Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery Course Overview

  • BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) – 5.5 years (4.5 years academics + 1 year internship), with 100 seats. 

  • Postgraduate (MD/MS Ayurveda) in five specialties: Panchakarma, Kayachikitsa, Prasuti Tantra & Stri Roga, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra (6 seats each).

  • Ph.D. in Ayurveda initiated in two specialties: Kayachikitsa and Panchakarma. 

BAMS Admission Process at SKAMCH

Admission & Eligibility

  • Must have passed 10+2/PUC with ≥50% in PCB (40% for SC/ST) and English.

  • Must qualify NEET‑UG for BAMS; AIAPGET for PG courses.

  • Minimum age of 17 by October 1 of admission year.

  • Non-Karnataka applicants need eligibility certificate from RGUHS.

  • Documents submitted include mark sheets, NEET/AIAPGET scorecards, eligibility certificates, caste/PG quota documents.

Application & Selection Process

  • Qualify NEET-UG:
    Admission to the BAMS course is strictly based on performance in NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) conducted by NTA.

  • Registration for Counseling:

    • Government Quota: Apply via the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) counseling portal.

    • Management & NRI Quota: Register either through AACCC (All India AYUSH Counseling) or via direct college-level counseling depending on the seat category.

  • Seat Allotment:

    • Based on NEET rank, reservation eligibility, and quota preference, candidates are allotted seats.

    • Selected candidates must confirm their seat within the given deadline by paying the initial admission fee.
